David Cooper

Group Director

David began his professional career as a loss adjuster in 1979. Initially, he handled marine and aviation claims. He is now primarily involved in Energy and Property losses, both construction and operational, including Business Interruption. David has considerable experience in adjusting high profile complex losses in a wide variety of industries, including petrochemical, power generation, mining, steel and ports, having handled losses in most countries in Latin America.

Andy Schapira

Group Director

Andy is a qualified Attorney-at-Law and has accumulated adjusting experience since 1999 in most countries in South America, with particular emphasis on Liability losses of all classes, as well as Property. He also has experience in handling catastrophe claims in the Caribbean. He currently heads the group’s Liability & Financial Lines Divisions across the region.

Gustavo Cassiau

Director

Gustavo is a Master Mariner. He joined us in 1985 and, after carrying out a wide variety of marine surveys for 15 years, including attendance at major casualties, he currently heads the Marine & Aviation Department. He has passed the Lloyd’s Certificate of Cargo Surveying Proficiency examinations Stages 1 and 2 and the Lloyd’s Certificate of Recovery examination Module 3.

Gabriel Anselmi

Manager

Gabriel is a qualified Attorney-at-Law. Prior to joining us in 2002, he was dedicated to legal practice, as a Public Defender on Federal Matters and in private practice in both Criminal and Civil Law. He is currently specialised in catastrophe and high impact Liability losses in our Liability Department.

Marcela Barro

Manager

Marcela is an Industrial Engineer who joined our team in 2009, after working as a Loss Control Engineer for a major international Insurance Company. Prior to working in insurance, she was employed by different petrochemical companies. She is currently the manager of our Property Department and handles major Energy and Property claims.

Nicolás Furfaro

Manager

Nicolás is a qualified Attorney-at-Law and has completed a Postgraduate in Tort Law at the University of Buenos Aires and a Master of Laws in Commercial and Corporate Law at the University of London. Prior to joining Cooper Brothers in 2008, he worked in the Corporate Law and General Consultancy areas at an International Law Firm, and he was also an assistant lecturer at the University of Buenos Aires. Having acquired adjusting experience in several areas of our Liability Department, he is currently in charge of the team specialised in TPA (Third Party Administration) schemes for high loss frequency accounts.

Pablo Kaufman

Manager

Pablo is a qualified Attorney-at-Law. Prior to joining us in 2003, he worked in a Law Firm specialised in Civil and Commercial Law, and lecturing at the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires. He is currently specialised in Complex Liability & Financial Lines claims in the Region.

John Cooper

Manager

John holds a degree in Business Economics, an M.Sc. in Insurance and Risk Management and a Diploma in Insurance awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute. Following three years in our Liability Department and a year on secondment to a major insurer in the London Market, his current case load consists primarily of Property and Financial Institutions claims, handling losses on a wide range of risks across the region. In addition, he is responsible for management of our Marine Cargo department.

Harry J. Charap

Senior Adjuster

Prior to joining us as a cargo surveyor and adjuster in 1994, Harry worked in the Operations and Claims Dept. of a ship agent and in a loss adjusting firm.  He has since acquired further experience in the survey and adjustment of losses on a wide variety of cargoes, and has passed the Lloyd's ‘Certificate of Cargo Surveying Proficiency’ and the ‘Technical Cargo Surveying’ examinations with merit.

Sebastián Gregorini

Senior Adjuster

 

Sebastián joined Cooper Brothers as a cargo surveyor in 1987, and has passed the Lloyd's 'Certificate of Cargo Surveying Proficiency' examination. Since joining us, he has acquired experience in the survey and adjustment of losses on a wide variety of cargoes.

Carlos Martinez

Adjuster

Carlos has worked as a surveyor and adjuster since 1989. In 1995 he graduated with a degree in Accounting. He has attended numerous courses related to insurance matters. He joined our team in 2007 and is primarily involved with general property claims.

Noelia Cano

Team Leader

Noelia is an Attorney-at-Law graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. Prior to joining Cooper Brothers in 2016, she worked in the Tort Law and Liability Claims areas at prestigious Law Firms. She is currently a member of our Liability Department that services Argentine Insurance Companies and handles Products, Construction and Professional Liability claims.

Sol Luccanera

Adjuster

Sol is a Sworn and Technical Scientific and Literary Translator graduated from the Universidad del Salvador. Prior to joining Cooper Brothers in 2017, she worked at a prestigious law firm.  She is currently an adjuster of the Team of our Liability Department that specializes in TPA (Third Party Administration) schemes for high loss frequency risks.

Enrique Guaymas

Adjuster

Enrique joined our Property Department in 2014, initially working as a surveyor. Since then, he has attended courses at the Argentine Insurance Companies' Association (AACS) on Home, Building Association's and General Property insurance. He is currently an adjuster in our Property Department.

Cristian Dagnino

Adjuster

Cristian joined Cooper Brothers in 2014, when we opened our offices in Rosario. He started working as a surveyor, and in the last few years he has specialised in the adjustment of general property claims, under Fire, Robbery, Contractors Plant, Equipment and Machinery, and Building Association and Home insurance policies. He currently handles general property claims at our office in Rosario.

Romina Lombardi

Adjuster

Romina is a qualified Attorney-at-Law. Prior to joining Cooper Brothers in 2019, she worked in different Law Firms as paralegal and subsequently as attorney-at-law in charge of trials against Insurance Companies. She is currently a member of our Liability Department that services Argentine Insurance Companies.

Cristian Greco

Technical Expert

Cristian has a degree in Accidents Forensic Investigation and in Fire Forensic Investigation. Since 2008, he has been a member of our Liability Department that specializes in TPA (Third Party Administration) schemes for high loss frequency risks, where he provides technical expertise on accident and fire investigations.

Clara María Rizzi

Adjuster

Clara is a Technical Scientific and Literary Translator graduated from the Universidad del Salvador. Prior to joining Cooper Brothers in 2017, she worked at a prestigious law firm.  She currently acts as the coordinator of our Marine & Aviation Department. In 2018, she also passed the Lloyd’s ‘Technical Cargo Surveying’ examination.

Jorge Chamaya

Surveyor

 

Jorge joined Cooper Brothers in 1997, initially working for our Administration Department. He currently carries out surveys for our General Property Department.

Vanina Alderete

Adjuster

Vanina is a qualified Attorney-at-Law graduated from the University of the Argentine Social Museum. She is currently a member of our Liability Department that services Argentine Insurance Companies.

Aldana Caouris

Adjuster

Aldana is a qualified Attorney-at-Law. Prior to joining us in 2019, she worked in different law firms as a legal assistant and later as a paralegal in charge of insurance company trials. Currently, she works as an adjuster in our Department of Civil Liability.

Victoria Vullo

Adjuster

Victoria is a Law student at the University of Buenos Aires. Prior to joining us in 2021, she worked at a prestigious law firm.
She is currently an Adjuster in the team that specializes in Third Party Administration (TPA) schemes for high loss frequency risks.

Zoe Alonso

Adjuster

Zoe is a qualified Attorney-at-Law. Prior to joining us, she worked at a prestigious law firm.
She is currently an Adjuster in the team that specializes in Third Party Administration (TPA) schemes for high loss frequency risks.

Eduardo Lojkasek Lima

Country Managing Director

Eduardo is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, graduated from the University of São Paulo. He earned a post-graduate degree in Petroleum Industry and he has the professional designation of AIC from the AICPCU/IIA. Following 5 years working in industry, he joined us in 2002 and is currently the Director in charge of our Brazil office. Eduardo has specialised in adjusting large complex Energy, Property and Construction losses.

Felipe Oliveira

Manager

Felipe is a Civil Engineer graduated from the Mackenzie Presbyterian University, where he also obtained a postgraduate degree in Project Management. He is currently attending a postgraduate course in Engineering Surveys and Valuations at IBAPE/Mackenzie Institutes. He joined our team in 2018, after having worked for 5 years in Infrastructure and Building consulting and design, and he currently handles Property and Construction losses.

Raphael Ginesi

Adjuster

Raphael is a mechanical engineer with a minor degree in Business Management, graduated at Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia, and also has a postgraduate degree in Project Management at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. He joined our team in 2022, after having worked for four years in a multinational construction company and he currently handles property and construction losses.

Henrique Scavazza

Adjuster

Henrique is a mechanical engineering with an emphasis on automobile manufacturing, graduated at FEI University Centre. He has also undertaken studies in electronics, and has undergone training in fire investigations in the U.S.A:. He has been handling large property and engineering losses since 2015 and joined our team in 2021.

Alexander-Salles

Adjuster

Alexander is a mechanical engineer, graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, with specialization in Project Management from FBMG and an MBA in Business Management, from SENAC MG. After working for 3 years in a multinational automotive industry, he joined our team in 2022.

Cláudio Muro

Adjuster

Cláudio is qualified as a lawyer and has a postgraduate degree in Business Administration. After some years of professional practice in various legal fields, in 2018 he joined a loss adjustment company, specializing in the Liability losses (of various classes). He also has experience in Third Party Administration Programs (TPA) and third-party negotiation and arbitration. In 2023, he joined our team dedicated to Liability, Financial Lines and TPA at Cooper Brazil.

John Ontaneda Cordero

Country Manager

John has completed his studies in electrical engineering. After 6 years working in industry as a maintenance engineer for a major state-owned petrochemical company, John commenced his loss adjusting career in 2009, acquiring experience in a varied number of risks, as well in the handling of catastrophes in the 2016 earthquake. He joined us in 2017 to head up our Ecuador office. His emphasis is on technical risks and Liability claims.

 

Martin Jackson

Country Managing Director

Martin, a mechanical engineer who holds a Diploma in Insurance awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute of London, started his career as a loss adjuster in 2005 dealing with mainly property losses. Since then he has developed a reputation for managing large and complex losses including construction, engineering, energy and power claims. Martin also has experience managing cat response teams following hurricanes and earthquakes throughout Latin America. Having been based in Mexico since 2012, he is responsible for heading up our Mexico office which opened in late 2021.

Claudia Hernandez Ramirez

Director

Claudia is a Chemistry honours graduate from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and later obtained a Master of Science degree at the Institut National de Sciences Apliquées of Lyon, focused on environmental contamination, developing research on the treatment of mining effluents contaminated with heavy metals.

During the last 18 years of her working as an adjuster, Claudia has handled claims of up to 75 million dollars, mainly in the fields of environmental contamination, oil and gas and third-party liability; but also in property and construction.

David Sarmiento

Senior Adjuster

Loss Adjuster and Architect, with a master's degree in risk management with 24 years’ experience in adjusting complex property and catastrophic losses. Particular experience in multimillion dollar property losses, Engineering and Construction claims and downstream Energy. Catastrophic losses experience includes damage caused by hurricanes Wilma, Alex & Odile, Flooding in Tabasco and Michoacan, significant Earthquakes in Oaxaca, Guerrero, Chiapas and Puebla/Mexico City. Risks adjusted include housing, hotels, commercial and manufacturing premises, hospitals, schools, docks and infrastructure alongside refineries and pumping stations.

Aurora Puentes

Senior Adjuster

Loss adjuster with over thirty years’ experience working in prestigious insurance and adjusting companies. Along with managing commercial and manufacturing property losses, Aurora has extensive experience managing and providing TPA services for significant government accounts; in particular following catastrophic events affecting multiple locations. Aurora has focused on the investigative side of loss adjustments, including detailed pricing analysis for government accounts and fraud investigation.

Sulamy Mendoza

Adjuster

Civil Engineering graduate from the National Polytechnic Institute with a specialty in deep foundations, also loss adjuster with over 8 years’ experience handling catastrophic claims including damage to hotels and housing caused by Hurricane Odile, September 2014, commercial losses following the Manta, Ecuador Earthquake April 2016, and extensive experience dealing with earthquake claims following the September 2017 Mexican earthquakes, including damage to housing, schools, hospitals, maritime signalling, highways and construction projects.

Claudia Alcalá

Adjuster

Claudia is an Economics graduate with more than 16 years’ experience auditing loss adjustments, and loss administration. She has particular experience in the management of volume accounts, including mortgaged housing, hospitals and schools.

Julio César Soto

Adjuster

Architect who, since obtaining his degree, has acquired more than 5 years’ experience adjusting losses, primarily relating to historic structures and their contents including artwork and historic artefacts. Julio has had extensive experience dealing with recent CAT events including the 2017 earthquakes and subsequent hurricane loss events.

Cosme Gibson

Country Managing Director

Cosme holds a degree in International Trade awarded by Universidad Americana of Paraguay and a Certificate in Insurance awarded by the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters. Cosme has worked as an adjuster since 2011, acquiring experience and in the handling of Property and complex Marine losses. Since 2022, Cosme manages our Paraguay office.

Gonzalo Romero

Country Managing Director

Gonzalo has accumulated surveying and adjusting experience since 1978. In 2001 he co-founded Bisi & Romero Asociados S.A. Loss Adjusters, which was subsequently incorporated to Cooper Brothers in 2017. Gonzalo currently heads our Peru office and is specialised in the supervision and adjustment of Property, Machinery Breakdown and Business Interruption claims.

Julio Castillo

Assistant Manager

Julio is a Peruvian Attorney-at-Law specialised in Liability and Financial Lines, among others fields. His experience includes working for 7 years as a Liability & Financial Lines Underwriting Assistant Manager at a Peruvian Insurance Company. Prior to that, he had worked for 5 years handling claims, 2 of which were at another International Adjuster, and the other 3 years at the Insurance Department of the abovementioned Peruvian Insurer. Since joining our team, he has led, as Assistant Manager, the development of the Liability and Financial Lines Department of our Peru office.

Christian Castillo

Adjuster

Christian is an Industrial Engineer. He joined us in 2016, after having worked for three years as an adjuster and surveyor for a major cargo surveying company in Peru. He is currently specialised in Commercial & Industrial Property Losses.

Vladimir Lara Enciso

Senior Adjuster

Vladimir graduated as an Electrical Mechanical Engineer and has acquired 14 years of experience in the Peruvian insurance market, working in the areas of Risk Engineering, Underwriting and Technical Property Claims, Marine Cargo and Hull. He also has extensive knowledge in risk analysis over a wide range of industrial activities, in addition to having successfully completed the advanced level Technical Branches course given by Munich Re in Germany. He is currently specialised in Commercial & Industrial Property Losses.

Joao Cordova

Adjuster

Joao is a registered Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, graduated from the National University of Engineering. He has over 7 years of experience in the Insurance Market, initially working in Engineering Claims Inspection. He then continued his professional development in Technical, Cargo and Marine Hull Claims, in addition to having acted in the Underwriting area within the Cargo, Hull and Aviation Business Unit. He has completed a specialization in Failure Analysis of Mechanical Elements and has a diploma in Project Management from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, in addition to having successfully completed the certification for Cargo Insurance Underwriting from ALSUM. He currently specializes in Property, Engineering and Cargo cases.

Andrés Cooper

Director

Andrew has accumulated surveying and adjusting experience since 1974.
He initially handled marine claims, and since 1996, he has specialised in Financial Institutions and Specie losses, handling a wide range of high profile losses throughout South America.
